Prabhas Raju (born 23 October 1976), popularly known as Prabhas is a Tollywood actor and the nephew of Tollywood star and politician Krishnam Raju Uppalapati. His father, a producer, late Sri U Suryanarayana Raju and mother is Siva Kumari. He is one of three children. His brother is Prabodh and sister is Pragathi. His friends and fans address him as Darling.
Prabhas is considered to be the most handsome hero in tollywood among contemporary heroes.He is called Young Rebel star in the industry. He did a formal acting course at Vizag. Prabhas started his movie career with Eshwar in 2002 about a poor boy falling in love with a rich girl. In 2003, he was seen as the lead in Raghavendra. Both did not do well at the box office.
Varsham (2004) reversed his fortunes. He was cast opposite Trisha. The film went on to become a hit. Then he acted under the direction of B. Gopal in Adavi Ramudu, which performed well at the box office and ran 50 days in 100+ centers. In Krishna Vamsi’s Chakram (2005) he played a cancer patient. Chatrapati (2005), in which he played a rebel, with Shriya Saran was a blockbuster.
The movies which followed were Pournami (2006), Yogi, Munna (2007) and Bujjigadu (2008).
In 2009 Prabhas was seen in Billa, which is a reworked Telugu version of the hugely successful bollywood film Don (2006). The movie stars Anushka Shetty and Namitha and also Hansika Motwani doing an item number. He shared screen space for the first time with his real life uncle, Krishnam Raju Uppalapati. The movie turned out to be a hit. The recent movie Ek Niranjan turned out to be an above average one. He has a huge female fan following and has many fan sites dedicated to him. His next movie is Darling, the music of this movie was released on April 8th and this movie holds heavy expectations as prabhas himself is known as Darling of Tollywood.Movie released on April 23rd and it got the possitive applause from all audience.He became mr.perfect of tollywood. His upcoming movie is "Rebel" Directed By Lawrance will hit the screen in Dec.
